As parents and children prepare to resume for a new academic session, management of a popular missionary school in Akure (name witheld), the Ondo state capital has expressed disappointment over what it described as failure of some parents to play expected roles on their own children.

In a chat tread exclusively obtained by Roving Reporters Online, the school principal (name withheld) exposed how some parents have been buying bleaching soaps for their children staying in the school hostels, despite warnings from the school.

He said, “Dear parents, sometimes I feel so disappointed when the school has to be asking us to play our parental roles to our children. Why?

“We discovered some students are bleaching, when confronted, they will say it was the cream or soap their parents bought for them.

“Some students are using cream as high as 10,000. For under 16 years🙄.

“While cleaning the hostels, this is a soap being used by a student.

“A child who is under 16. Please, just get your children toilet soap.

“Henceforth, any bleaching soap or cream shall be confiscated by the school. Let’s be guided.”
