… Lauds governor for assenting to LCDA bill
The immediate past Commissioner who represented Ondo State on the governing board of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Hon. Gbenga Edema, has expressed delight and joy following the healing and safe return of Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu from his medical leave in Germany.
While appreciating God for the healing of the governor, Edema, stated that Akeredolu during the month-long vacation exuded determination and resilience, which he said will inspire everyone.
The former Chairman of the Ondo State Oil Producing Areas Developmen Commission (OSOPADEC) in a statement he signed himself stressed that the return of the governor and his recovery brought about a wave of relief and joyous mood that resonated across the state.
“I would like to express my utmost joy and relief upon the safe return and healing of Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu, SAN, CON. This remarkable outcome serves as a testament to his unwavering determination and resilience in the face of adversity.
“His return fills us with immense happiness, as we have followed his journey closely and witnessed the challenges he has overcome. His swift recovery is a testament to his strength of character and the prayers that were all answered by God.
“The governor’s healing journey has touched the hearts of many, inspiring hope and optimism amidst difficult times. His unwavering spirit and positive attitude have been an inspiration to all who have watched him overcome the obstacles he faced.
“His determination to regain his health and return to his duties as the Executive Governor of Ondo State is truly commendable. His dedication to serving the people of Ondo State has never wavered, even during his time of illness.”
Meanwhile, Edema also commended Akeredolu for signing into law the Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) bill, as he emphasised that the creation of the 33 LCDAs would play a pivotal role in bringing development closer to the grassroots.
The former lawmaker and lawyer equally lauded the foresight and commitment of the governor in recognising the significance of grassroots development.
Edema further commended the Ondo State House of Assembly for its prompt and efficient passage of the LCDA bill.
He applauded the lawmakers for their dedication and understanding of the urgent need to establish LCDAs within the state.
“This historic act demonstrates the governor’s commitment to bringing development closer to the grassroots. The creation of LCDAs will undoubtedly foster accelerated development, improved governance, and enhanced service delivery to the people of Ondo State.”
