A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State, Prince Poroye Biyi Bill, has called on Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu and APC chairman, Ade Adetimehin to call his Senior Special Assistant on Special Duties, Dr. Doyin Odebowale to order and also instruct him to apologise to the party leaders from the Ondo South senatorial district, over some comments he made on a national television on Wednesday night.

Prince Poroye stated this in a letter written, signed and submitted to the Governor’s office and APC state chairman on Thursday.

The letter reads “Following the reckless and derogatory statement, and insulting words passed on the Ondo southern leaders by one Dr. Doyin Odebowale, Senior Special Assistant on Special Duties to the Governor of Ondo State, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu SAN, CON, on Channels TV on Tuesday 27th September, 2023, and in an immediate retraction of the ‘offensive and derogatory statement’, the leaders of the Ondo South Senatorial District hereby call on Doyin Odebowale to withdraw the statement and apology to the leaders.”

Reactions have also been trailing the interview that Odebowale granted on channels TV as many considered it as insult to the people of the area.

Prince Poroye said the people of Ondo South have examined the spate of Odebowale’s defamatory statements and public assault in Ondo political history of Akeredolu-led government and discovered that, if not quickly curtailed, may led to tribal crisis and consequently cause unrest crisis in the state.
