Ahead of the 2024 Governorship election, more defection is now rocking Ondo chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP as seven members of the state working committee have resolved to join the ruling All Progressives Congress APC in the state.
The Chairman of All Progressives Congress in Ondo State, Engr Ade Adetimehin stated this while speaking with newsmen in Akure, the state capital.
He however noted that his party the All Progressives Congress (APC) remained united.
He stressed that the opposition PDP had been decimated in the State.
He affirmed that the Governorship position in the State has been zoned to the southern senatorial district, “so anyone from the Central or the North districts still thinking of becoming the state Governor now is wasting his or her time.”
Also Speaking about the politics in Ondo central senatorial district, Adetimehin, commended the senator representing the district, Adeniyi Adegbonmire for his efforts at the Senate.
Adetimehin described Adegbomire as the darling of APC not only in Ondo State but Nigeria.
“Amongst the 109 Senators in Nigeria, Adegbomire is the only one who is a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, SAN and has not allowed that to go into his head. He has been conducting his parliamentary assignments with utmost respect and diligence. He has brought his wealth of experience to bear in attending to national issues.”
“We are lucky to have him at the Central senatorial district and I can assure you that Adegbomire will continue to give good representation,” Adetimehin said.
He appealed to Journalists to always ensure balance in their reportage.
