Ondo Assembly lawmaker, Akinsuroju, launches empowerment scheme for Widows, Aged

All is now set for the inauguration of an empowerment scheme for the Widows and the Aged in Ile-Oluji/Oke-Igbo area of Ondo state,  an initiative of Hon. Nelson Akinsuroju, lawmaker representing the constituency in the state house of assembly.

Akinsuroju disclosed this while unveiling his plans to launch the scheme in his constituency next month.

The Widow and Aged Empowerment Scheme aims to enhance the lives of these vulnerable individuals, by providing the targeted support and resources for them.

This initiative focuses on financial stability, healthcare, and skill development to foster financial independence and the physical well-being of widows and the elderly.

Additionally, Hon. Nelson Akinsuroju revealed that the scheme shall emphasize on their financial empowerment, healthcare services and a better livelihood for the Widows and the Aged, to primarily address their specific needs, to ensure that their physical, financial and mental health is stable and secured.

This he said can be achieved by fostering a sense of community and inclusivity for the Widows and Aged, as the scheme shall endeavour to create a supportive environment to uplift and empower these deserving individuals.

The lawmaker also restated his continuous commitment to the well-being of these category of his constituents, towards achieving a better society.
