Following the condemnation of the Ondo State Commissioner for Energy and Mineral Resources, Razaq Obe, by some faceless persons who claimed to be eliites in the state, a group of elders from the state has condemned the Elites.
They described the elites’ reasons for condemning the commissioner as shallow and didn’t appeal to reason.
The elders, under the auspices of Ondo State Elders Vanguard (OSEV), faulted the so-called elites, saying they were too quick to condemn the commissioner for disclosing such a serious issue that borders on the wellbeing of the people of state.
In a statement jointly signed by the President and Secretary General of
OSEV, Dr. James Oloniyo and Chief Ade Adebiyi respectively, and made available to journalists on Sunday in Akure, Ondo State capital, it said all concerned citizens of Ondo State should, through concerted efforts, look into the authenticity of this issue of alleged forgery. He described the Elites’ claims as pedestrian with political undertone, saying they have not behaved true to the status they have claimed to be.
OSEV appreciated the bravery of the Commissioner who acted courageously despite the fact that he’s still a member of the Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu-led administration.
The elders, therefore, charged all well-meaning citizens of Ondo State to intervene and ensure the leadership vacuum and chaos brewing in the state are halted without further delay.
However, OSEV called on politicians to desist from seizing this opportunity to score cheap political points.
