A chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress, Olutayo Babalayo, has accused Ondo state Commissioner for Energy and Natural Resources, Honorable Rasaq Obe, of attempting to deliberately create chaos in the state for personal gains.
Babalayo, spoke on Crest FM’s Breakfast Show in reaction to the letter from Honorable Obe, claiming to have proof that Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu’s signature was being forged.
Babalayo alleged that Obe’s actions were not in the interests of the state but a ploy to clear the way for his ambition to become the Deputy Governor in the event that Honourable Lucky Aiyedatiwa is declared the Acting Governor.
Babalayo berated the commissioner for conducting a private investigation into the alleged forgery instead of reporting his suspicions to the Governor or the Police.
On the several calls to President Bola Tinubu to invoke the Doctrine of Necessity as in the case of late President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua, Babalayo noted that same cannot be applied to Ondo State as Governor Akeredolu is still alive.
He advised that due process be followed in investigating the alleged signature forgery and called on politicians to stop fanning the embers of war in the state.
