APC National Women Leader hails 27 lawmakers over defection in Rivers

Mrs Mary Idele Alile, APC National Women Leader has commended the 27 members of the Rivers House of Assembly who left the PDP and defected the the ruling party.

In a statement made available to newsmen, Alile said “I wish to profoundly congratulate the 27 Members of the Rivers State House of Assembly, who, on December 11, 2023, took the wise and courageous decision to decamp from the drowning People’s Democratic Party, PDP, to the ruling Renewed Hope, All Progressives Congress, APC, under the visionary and result-oriented leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who is flying the craft of governance in Nigeria to heights previously unattained.

“I also want to congratulate the APC family in Rivers State for this valuable addition, which no doubt, has made the party more formidable and open to more benefits, including the takeover of the State Executive by democratic means.

“This development is yet another victory for democracy, which abhors a situation where the minority would want to lord it over the majority under the excuse of partisan loyalty. I salute the conscientious House of Assembly members, whose action has freed their state from clannish intrigues and descent to anarchy and the loss of focus.

“By this development of having the APC as the overwhelming majority in the Rivers State House of Assembly, we can be rest assured that Rivers State has technically become an APC State. It gives us hope that the positive vibes of the Renewed Hope Agenda of the APC government will resonate loudly in the State, henceforth.

“Meanwhile, as we look forward to the solid integration of the esteemed decamped members of the Rivers State House of Assembly into the APC family and the APC ways of doing things to promote the progressive agenda of the Party and President Tinubu, I want to extend the warm hand of welcome from the office of the APC National Women Leader, and look forward to their promoting gender friendly bills and resolutions for the benefit of all Rivers State women. Once again, congratulations!”
