It was an atmosphere filled with pomp and pageantry at the weekend as Grace Garden city, Alagbaka celebrated her annual End of the year party in Akure, the Ondo State capital.
The Event which was held at Road 5 junction of the Estate on Saturday, December 30, 2023 also feature Handling-Over and Swearing-in of the new Executive Council members in the estate.
Speaking at the occasion , the outgoing chairman of the Estate, Arch Oluwatosin Jatto (MNIM) who also doubles as the Chief host, said the essence of the event is to celebrate the faithfulness of God to members of the estate and appreciation to God almighty for yearly achievements.
“As we are celebrating ourselves in this estate, i want to appreciate you all for making this day a beautiful one and a glorious one indeed.
“Tonight is not for the outgoing Chairman alone, neither the incoming Chairman’s night, rather a night of Grace Garden city, where we call out special people among us who have used thier resources and energy to move the estate forward.
“All you have seen, experience here is by the help of God through some individuals here present and whatsoever you see here, have no government intervention so far,
“We took it upon ourselves to take the Estate to a certain level that is worthy of emulation in the state and the Southwest at large before inviting the Government for assistance. He said
Jatto while reeling out some of his achievements said,” During my tenure we are able to Construct Estate gate for the Main Entrance, Beautification of 2 Estate Gates, Construction of two additional security posts to plastering level
“We installed CCTV camera at the main gate, Engagements of registered private security outfit in the Estate, Re-establishment of cordial relationship with other neighbouring Estates to achieve common goal,
“We had a rally to call the attention of the Ondo State Governor to assist in construction of roads leading to the Estate, Creation of guardroom for offenders among others
“We are using this medium to congratulate Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa as the newly sworn-in Governor of Ondo State
“On this note, i want to officially hand over the baton of leadership to the newly elected chairman of the Estate, Mr. Akinola Odeyemi.
Speaking on behalf of the new Exco, the newly elected chairman of the Estate, Mr. Akinola Odeyemi while commending his predecessor, Arch Oluwatosin Jatto for his achievements in the estate promised to work assiduously for the growth of the Estate.
Roving Reporters however gathered that the occasion which began on Friday 29th December, 2023, with Ashri prayer at Alh. Akinkunmi Mosque in the Estate ended with a thanksgiving Service at RCCG Sure Covenant Zone in the estate on Sunday 31st December, 2023.
Our correspondent who was at the event gathered that a minute silence was observed in honour of the late Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu.
Highlights of the event included; Games, Presentation of Awards to outgoing Exco, Entertainment of guest by Nirancrown the Jago band, among others.
