Akeredolu’s death: APC group backs Aiyedatiwa to deliver

by Roving

A group within the All Progressives Congress APC in Ondo state known as the Progressive Stakeholders has expressed confidence in the ability of governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa to turn things around in the state.

The group stated this in a congratulatory letter addressed to governor Aiyedatiwa and made available to Roving Reporters Online on Thursday.

Aiyedatiwa was last week sworn in as the governor of Ondo state following the death of the former governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu who died in Germany during a protracted illness.

The letter signed by the chairman of the group, Afe Olowookere and the Secretary, Raman Rotimi says, “The entire members of the Progressive Stakeholder, a political group within the Ondo State APC, sincerely congratulate and rejoice with you on your historical journey to the exalted position of the governor of the state.

“Though the road was tough and rough, it took a man of courage and a dogged fighter to navigate in such a very storming ocean of political uncertainty.

“Your journey to the top was not without some unprecedented actions, which generated reactions, emotions, intrigues, comments, and discussions across the country.

“These signify the enormous responsibilities and the level of confidence and trust the people have in you and your leadership.

“We are aware that the task ahead is very huge and that the expectations of the people are high. But we have absolute belief that you will turn around the fortune of the people and reinvigorate our party in view of the current situation.

“While using this medium to appreciate the good people of Ondo State for their support thus far, and also congratulate them for a new lease of life, we do hope that the immediate past events in the state will further strengthen and energised your Excellency to work better for the people of the state and, indeed,  Nigeria. Do humbly accept our congratulations, sir.”
