A group, Concern citizens for growth has condemned the attempt to drag the name of the Hon Olubunmi Tunji Ojo, the minister of Interior in the ongoing accusation against the suspended Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Dr Betta Edu.
According to the group, Hon Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo has, over the years, demonstrated so much capacity, intelligence, purposeful leadership, discipline in all his dealings even before becoming a minister of the federal government under the leadership of president Bola Tinubu.
The group stated this in a statement signed by its coordinator, Mr Sayo Olusoji after at a meeting which took in Akure Ondo state.
“Let us commend President Bola Tinubu for his immediate and charismatic prowess of handling the EduGate saga in the best interest of the nation and by allowing the relevant security and crime agencies to investigate the matter to its logical conclusion devoid of any form of distraction from anyone or group.
“Our attention as a group has been drawn to the missiles of mischievous accusations being targeted against Hon Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, Minister of Interior by mischief and failed politicians from the People’s Democratic Party( PDP) in their desperate attempt to link him(Hon. Olubunmi Tunji -Ojo with suspended minister Beta Edu.”
The groups posited that in less than eight months that President Tinubu assumed office, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo has come out with a workable,well defined mission, vision, blueprint and seriousness of purpose in the task of addressing the various problems and challenges confronting the Interior Ministry.
“For years, Nigerians have waited for a young, vibrant minister who will tackle our various challenges and the Ondo state born minister has lived up to expectation even in less than a year in office with a remarkable achievements.
“His quick tactics with which he tackled the international passport scarcity and other matters are visible testimonies that he is no doubt a star boy of the President Tinubu’s administration and that he is focused and seriously minded political appointee of the government.
“Concern citizens for growth” as a group concluded that since the beginning of the Nigerian democracy, the political space is over saturated with different characters, ranging from the good, the bad and ugly like the popular old action movie.
“Sadly, the characters behind the campaign of calumny and distractions against the Akoko born Hon Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo represents the most ugliest part the Nigerian political elites.
Our research on the fabricated allegations against Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo revealed that he established the said company 10 years ago, but resigned from the directorship in the 2019 when he contested for the House of Representatives seat in Ondo state and has not been involved either in the management of the company or being a signatory to the accounts company anymore.
Also, Hon Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo gave proper account of himself during his recent appearance on a popular television Channels TV programme some days ago and the Certified True Copy of Corporate Affairs Commission has been made available to the Nigerian public to verify his claims and the veracity of the rumour mill.
The truth is that Hon Tunji -Ojo has brought in massive change in the Interior Ministry from a mare public holiday declaration office as being noticed by many Nigerians to a world class result oriented ministry.
We say that It is evidently clear that Hon Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo has really sneaked himself into the hearts of millions of Nigerians with his performance in office thereby putting the President Tinubu’s administration into positive record but it’s sad that some are working so hard to caused distraction and pollute the atmosphere with political inspired and unsubstantiated allegations against the Minister .
Hon. Olubunmi Tunji -Ojo has been able to distinguish himself and consistently working to bring about the real change we all desire.
Among the people of Ondo state Hon Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo is a model to thousands of youths and has positively impacted lives, students,youths,older citizens with monumental projects not only to his area but scattered around such as good road and portable water for a good life.
We hereby affirmed our solidarity with a discipline Hon Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo urging him to ignore further campaign of calumny and distractions against him as we assumed all the actics as a deliberate and calculated moves to distract him from accomplishing the mission assigned to him by President Bola Tinubu.
It is also a fact that Hon Ojo is a victim of conspiracy by the some cartel of passport racketeering he dismantled, now fighting back to take destroy his unblemished reputation.
Nigerian both home and abroad are so excited with the latest development that all Nigerians can easily get their passport in a short time rather than the long wait and sleepless night many faced in getting their passport.
Dear President Bola Tinubu, this is our desire and plea that the matter should be looked into thoroughly with wisdom so as to shun any form of distraction in your administration.
