Ondo: Encomium as Workers Celebrate Ex- Commissioner, Ologbese

The erstwhile Commissioner for Regional Integration and Diaspora Relations, Prince Boye Ologbese has been honoured in recognition of the service rendered and achievements attained during his tenure as Commissioner.

Top management and other members of staff of the Ministry, gathered in Akure to pour encomiums on the former Commissioner, Prince Boye Ologbese in appreciation of his efforts at improving the Ministry better than he met it.

Giving her special remarks, the Permanent Secretary, Mrs. Lola Amuda said that his efforts in revamping the ministry during the short time he spent is no doubt commendable.

In her words “ Life is like a stage, we play our roles and leave the stage and in the process we have remarkable experiences”

“I wish to express my heartfelt appreciation to you, Sir, for the dedication and enthusiasm you demonstrated during your tenure, which has positioned the Ministry among the most vibrant in the State”
“Your steadfast commitment to achieving goals is truly noteworthy.

Furthermore, Mrs Lola Amuda highlighted the former commissioner’s critical roles in the process of attaining approval for the establishment of the deep-sea Port in the State, the stationing of NiDCOM Annex office in the ministry, earning the role of Chairman of State Regional Integration focal officers by Dawn Commission to evaluate and co-ordinate activities of the Southwest region amongst others.

In his response, the former Commissioner, Prince Boye Ologbese, said he was elated for the show of love from the staff and, most of all, grateful to God for the opportunity to serve.

He said “ On assumption of office, I took my time to understudy how best to improve the ministry bearing in mind that government cannot do business by itself. Very promptly, I saw the need to relate the Diaspora activities with our State considering the abundant natural resources we possess in order to position the economy of the state”

“All these concerns were presented to the Chairman/CEO Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), Hon Abike Dabiri-Erewa who was able to recognize and buy in to our concept for the state, thus in acknowledgement approved the siting of a NiDCOM Annex office in the Ministry as first of its kind in the Southwest region to pave way for indigenes to contribute towards social and economic development in our State.

While thanking the late Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu SAN, CON for the opportunity offered him to serve in such capacity, he noted that “His vision was to achieve diversification of the economy so as to change the narrative of the state from a civil service driven state to a business driven one. “Arakunrin acknowledged the need to invest in the huge market potential of the state using Diaspora engagements and thus fast-track the giant steps of obtaining approval for the deep-sea port.

Prince Boye Ologbese particularly thanked the Permanent Secretary, Mrs. Lola Amuda for being a great pillar of support to him as a green horn in the civil service, having worked in private organizations in the past.

I am filled with pride and joy as I reflect on the incredible work we have accomplished together” he said.

Bidding the former Commissioner farewell, other members of staff commended him for working assiduously and effectively whilst he served.

According to them, Prince Boye Ologbese interpreted the dream of the state government and has placed the ministry in an enviable position in the state.
