Traditional and community leaders in Ese-Odo Local Government Area of Ondo State have commended the re-appoitment of Chief Mrs. Olamide Falana as Special Adviser on Gender Matters to Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa.
The Royal Fathers who spoke at a reception held in honour of the appointee at Alagbaka in Akure, showered her with encomiums and hinged the development on the giant strides recorded in her previous task.
According to a statement signed by the Media Officer to the Special Adviser, Debbie Funmilayo, they said Chief Mrs. Falana did not disappoint them as she displayed a high degree of responsibility in office.
The paramount ruler of Apoi, HRM (Oba) Sunday Adejimola Amuseghan, The Kalasuwe commended her, saying the appointee gave a good representation of the government as the Special Adviser on Gender, especially by rekindling the hope of the girl-child.
In his words, ”Our daughter has been up to the task in Apoi land”.
Similarly, Royal Majesty Oba Oyedele Raphael, the Olu of Igbobini said the people are proud of the special adviser as she served as a great bridge between the ancient and modern.
Board Chairperson, Agency for the welfare of persons living with Disability, Princess Arise Sade, said Chief Falana has been a great pillar of support to the Agency and has touched many lives.
Spouse of the Special Adviser on Gender Matters, Mr. Martin-Mary Falana while commending his wife and expressing the hope that the achievements being recorded are just the beginning of her political journey said,
” I believe men should give women the opportunity to achieve their potentials in life. It starts by giving quality education to the girl-child so they can excel early in life”.
In her response, the special adviser, Chief Mrs. Olamide Falana said her reappointment is a challenge to do more.
She urged the people to support Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa’s administration, assuring that various programmes are being implemented in the general interest of the people.
Chief. Falana lauded the Governor for the female inclusions nominated to serve under his administration noting that the role of women in politics cannot be over- emphasized. She promised to continue to show her unalloyed effort and loyalty.
Earlier, Chief. Olamide Falana, was sworn in as the Special Adviser to the Governor on Gender Matters alongside others and commissioner’s at an elaborate inauguration ceremony held at the International Event Centre (The Dome).
At the occasion, Ondo State Governor, Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa amongst other top government functionaries were present to administer the oath of office on the new members of the state executive council.
Governor Aiyedatiwa, while congratulating the newly sworn-in, charged them to bring their pool of experience and valuable contributions to the fore for effective and efficient service delivery towards enhancing the socio- economic growth of Ondo State.
