The major Waste management partner of the Ondo State government has raised the alarm over the collateral damage the actions and inactions of the state government against the company has been having on staff of ZLGA.
According to the Group Managing Director of the company, Dr. Abiola Bashorun, the steps being taken lately by the Ondo state government are inimical to the much touted promises of providing enabling environment for investors.
Just on Monday, March 11, the Head of the company’s waste loading team upon hearing that the government has inappropriately directed that trucks be withdrawn from ZLGA, collapsed and is now paralysed, currently hospitalised.
Said she, “these are workers who have been in high hopes that their salary will be paid soon as we were told that government has perfected plans to pay us only for waste management authority to start this contrary moves.”
“This is unimaginable and inhuman. How can government be asking for ceded trucks in a contractual agreement when same is still in force and not yet dispensed with? This is happening at a time when government is owing our company two months payment for public waste management, the third month is getting to its mid already.” She said.
She appealed to governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa to call the agents of government going the path of illegality to order as a stitch in time saves nine.
