Mount Zion Drama Ministry storms FUTA for Performance

by Roving

The Vice Chancellor, Federal University of Technology Akure FUTA, Professor Adenike Oladiji, has commended the founders of Mount Zion Faith Ministry, Evangelists Mike and Gloria Bamiloye for their sterling contributions to the making of a better society and for guiding the youths on the path of moral rectitude.

Professor Oladiji stated this on Monday when she received members of the Ministry during a courtesy call on the sideline of the stage performance of a play as part of activities marking the 2024 International Women’s Day celebration in FUTA.

She said the Ministry has contributed significantly to the making of Nigerian youths, urging it to intensify its divine mandate of showing the youths the right path.

The Vice Chancellor who attributed the strides already recorded during her tenure to divine guidance , said no individual should discountenance the place of the Almighty God in the scheme of things.

She noted that running a University was one of the hardest things to do without God, explaining that the coordination of manpower and successful administration of the Institution was enough reason to depend on God.

She noted that as the University joined the rest of the world to celebrate the International Women’s Day, women tend to do things differently, believing that God will use the lives of matured Christians to affect young people, hence the extension of invitation to Mount Zion Faith Ministry to stage a drama on campus geared at the reorientation of students for positive inclusivity.

According to her, the invitation was a way of exposing students to the lives of successful Christians for them to learn a thing or two and jettison the vices they hold on to tenaciously, stressing that not doing so will have deadly consequences on the nation eventually.

Explaining further, Professor Christiana Ijagbemi, the Director, Centre for Gender Issues in Science and Technology, CEGIST, told the gathering that the Directorate decided to use drama to pass the message of the year’s theme to the students who were the major target to appeal to their minds directly.

She noted that many had lost touch on why they were in school and were particular about making money by any means.

She reiterated that the drama was to re-orientate them and recall them from the suppose dark paths some of them had already ventured into to secure a bright future for them, adding that they require a good state of mind to proffer solutions to technological problems as leaders of tomorrow, as well as become meaningful citizens of the nation and worthy ambassadors of FUTA.

Evangelist Bamiloye, while extending courtesy for the invite noted that the Ministry was thrilled to bring the gospel to young people and was honoured to be a role model for the remodeling of young and creative minds.

He corroborated that women should stand for God at all times, noting that they are role models and yardsticks for the measurement of morality in the society.

He was happy to be associated with FUTA which is known for doing exploits academically and technologically and prayed God to continually strengthen the Management to move the University forward in the fear of God.
