There are ongoing and calculated plans by members of the Ondo state house of assembly to remove the Speaker, Olamide Oladiji and the majority leader, Oluwole Ogunmolasuyi over alleged abuse of office, Roving Reporters can report.
It was reliably gathered that some lawmakers are no longer pleased with the Speaker and Ogunmolasuyi over alleged misappropriation of huge sum of money received from the state government without accounting for it.
It was also gathered that some lawmakers supporting ogunmolasuyi are currently having a meeting in Akure to avert the imminent impeachment before it would be taken to the plenary.
Roving Reporters learnt that some lawmakers are also making serious move to impreach the majority leader to prevent him from becoming the Speaker when Oladiji is eventually impeached.
A source who spoke with Roving Reporters on the condition of anonymity doubted if Ogunmolasuyi and Oladiji would escape their removal.
He said, I doubt if they would scape through. Don’t forget, they have both been benefiting heavily from their office without considering other lawmakers.
The issue of money collected when they went to Abuja last year and short changed those who were unable to travel has not been settled.
“The roles they all played during the impeachment plot against Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa is still fresh now that some lawmakers are loyal to the governor.”
Efforts to reach Ogunmolasuyi were unsuccessful as he has not replied messages sent to his mobile phone nor picked his calls.
