The Special Adviser to the Ondo state Governor on Information, Hon. Olugbenga Omole, said the accessibility to Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa by the people of the state including leaders will be his selling point as ahead of April 25 APC primary and November 16, 2024 governorship election.
Speaking on a TV programme on Wednesday, Akogun Omole said the Governor had also stepped into the shoes of the former Governor, late Rotimi Akeredolu by embarking on key projects to consolidate on the achievements of the administration.
The Special Adviser said Governor Aiyedatiwa’s accommodating style of leadership had been winning more key politicians to join the APC from other opposition parties ahead of the governorship election.
Omole who is a former lawmaker, said, “Governor Aiyedatiwa is accessible and that is one of his selling points and why people keep loving him, he is somebody you can knock at his door, he lives in his private house with neighbours around him just like a normal person, sometimes, as at 11pm the Governor is still in the office attending to people, for the very first time in seven years, he met with the Elders of the party.
“There is no opposition in Ondo State, what I mean is that there is no opposition that can wrestle power with APC in Ondo state, though, there are parties around but they don’t have the capacity to wrestle with APC.
“One of the PDP leaders, a former Deputy Speaker just left PDP for APC and this is happening every day, when you don’t have opposition party that can measure up to 10percent of what you have, it really means there is no opposition.
“On daily basis, people are trooping from other parties to APC because of Governor Aiyedatiwa’s style of leadership. Governor Aiyedatiwa has shown character and capacity that is capable to deliver good Governance for the people of Ondo state.
“A lot of things that have not happened in the past, are happening now and that is why people are showing massive love to him on daily basis, torrent of endorsement all days from different groups and good people of the state both home and diaspora.
“Aiyedatiwa is already wearing the shoe of Akeredolu and he is well-prepared for governance, he learnt a lot from his late principal, all critical stakeholders that matters have key into the Aiyedatiwa project, even non-Indigenes, and come April 25 (APC governorship primary) the story will be a positive one.
“A lot has been done by Governor Aiyedatiwa in less than three months, firstly he instructed all contractors to go back to sites, he gave a marching order, he also assured that all road projects approved by his principal will be concluded, he has flagged off construction of rural roads and N3.4b has been approved immediately and the people are appreciative of this latest development.
“Ondo state is one of the most secured states in Nigeria, because the Governor is doing a lot on the security of lives and properties of the people, in the next couple of days now the Governor as approved more purchase of operational vehicles to the security agencies including Amotekun Corps.
“There is an overhead bridge going on in Akure, if you see the speed at which the construction is moving, then you will understand the fact that we have a serious government in power,” Omole said.
