Olusola Oke, gubernatorial aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Friday visited Pa Reuben Fasoranti, leader of Afenifere.
Oke had earlier in the day held town hall meetings with the APC leaders and members in Akure North, Ifedore and Akure South in preparation for the party primary election slated for April 20, 2024.
The governorship aspirant said he was at the Akure country home of Fasoranti to inform the elder statesman of his intention to run for the position of Ondo state governor on the APC platform.
He told the Afenifere leader that he has a lot to offer the good people of the state if given the APC ticket and the mandate of the people.
Oke promised to make a positive change in the state and return better life to the people.
He decried the moral decadence which, according to him, has taken over the state as a result of the negligence of the past, saying he is ready to positively change the narrative.
Fasoranti, while responding, said he was impressed by Oke’s words of wisdom.
“I am impressed by the words coming out of your mouth which show that, indeed, you will do exceedingly well for the people,”Fasoranti said.
The elder statesman prayed for the gubernatorial aspirant and wished him victory in the APC nomination exercise.
Oke appreciated Fasoranti’s words of encouragement and pledged never to disappoint the leader of the Yoruba race.
”I need to appreciate you, Baba, for your words of encouragement. I promise you that I will never disappoint you and our people if given the opportunity to lead the state,” Oke said.
