As Christians celebrate Easter in Ondo state and Nigeria at large, a member of the Ondo state House of Assembly representing Ileoluji Oke-igbo constituency, Hon. Nelson Akinsuroju has felicitated with the Christian community.
In a statement made available to newsmen on Saturday, Akinsuroju called on Christians to celebrate the festive season with sober reflection and use the period to pray for divine intervention on various challenges facing the country.
The lawmaker urged them to embrace the spirit of love, resurrection and hope of the period.
Akinsuroju said, “ I want to urge Christians in the state to use the season to pray fervently for Ondo state especially now that we are preparing for governorship election.
“God gives power and enthrones leaders, we on our parts must pray that God gives the state a leader that would turn things around for good in Ondo state.
“The significance of Easter can not be overemphasized, hence the need for us to also pray that for peace, unity, and prosperity in Ondo State.
“Development is witnessed where there is peaceful coexistence among the people regardless of our political beliefs and religions.”
Akinsuroju prays that the Easter season will bring about good tidings and brighter future for Ondo State.
