Aiyedatiwa’s Four-year Term will be unbeatable – G30
A political group within the All Progressives Congress, APC, known as G30 on Friday drummed its support for the Ondo State Governor, Mr. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, saying that he has what it takes to create very strong impact for the people of the State within four years of his administration.
The group has also launched bottled water for all supporters of Aiyedatiwa ahead of his campaign across all local government areas of the state.
The group described the gesture as
and as its own contribution to supporting Aiyedatiwa achieve victory.
Addressing newsmen at a press conference held at Oba-Ile, in Akure North Local Government Area of the state the G30 said whether Aiyedatiwa is spending two or four years, his endorsement as the governorship candidate of APC in the November election, saying they believe will create a very sharp and strong impact for the people within four years.
The convener of the group, Dr Tola Awosika who was flanked by a former member of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Adefisoye, Dr Oluwaseun Bosede Osamaye and other members said the group has carefully evaluated the capacity of governor Aiyedatiwa in the last few months at the saddle of power and should be allowed to consolidate on it.
Awosika said: “I think we should be more worried about tomorrow, what happens to our state not what happens in a year, two, three or four years.
“I’m sure you know that at the time the Northern senatorial district was clamouring for their own turn, they also wanted eight years but unfortunately God is the one that decide tomorrow and our late governor was only able to achieve seven years, but in those seven years he did his own part.
“He impacted his people and the people are very pleased with the Legacy that he left for them as far as Ondo North is concerned. So I don’t see that being an issue for him. I think it’s not how long you spend it is what you do when you’re giving the opportunity.
“So, whether it’s two or four years, I believe he has what it takes to create very sharp impact for the good people of Ondo State.”
Speaking on the influence of the President ahead of the primary, Awosika said, “We all know the anticidents of president Tinubu, we saw it in his own struggle for the presidential primary ticket.
“He’s a Democrat through and through and someone that believes in the process and someone that believes in elections. He fought very hard for his own nomination as a candidate of APC during the 2023 presidential election, and I believe he’s throwing out the same path, he want the aspirants to also fight for what they believe in and I believe he’s good to support with very transparent and Democratic process.
The group promised to mobilise the people to ensure that Aiyedatiwa is elected as the candidate of the party and subsequently as state governor on November 16.
