As the remains of the Global Vice President of Oyemekun Grammar School, Akure OGSA, High Chief Olusegun Ogunjobi is being laid to rest in Ibadan, the Alumni Association has described him as a man of conviction, who never reneged his disposition for the truth and justice.
The Global President of the association, Dr. Niyi Ijogun stated this during the funeral service at the St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Odo-Ona, Ibadan. Ijogun who led other executives and members of the association to the funeral service said the association has lost a courageous and steadfast man, whose counsel, candour and passion for perfection will be missed.
He said Ogunjobi was a dependable deputy whose opinion on issues is immeasurable. A peace loving man, who devoted his lifetime and energy to the course of our Alma mater and esteemed association. “We will surely miss his pragmatic approach and contributions at ensuring successful completion of our projects in the 10th Executive.”
The officiating minister and Vicar of St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Odo-Ona, Ibadan, Ven. Dr. Yemi Jesulola, in his sermon, said the deceased lived an impactful life. According to him, Chief Ogunjobi was a committed man, an embodiment of humility and selfless service. He also testified to the numerous contributions of Ogunjobi towards advancing the church.
The clergy in his message reminded the gathering of the need to live a life pleasing to God. He said death is not the end of man, as there is life eternal for the saints who live according to the commandments of God.
The deceased son, Mr. Akintomide Ogunjobi, who spoke on behalf of the family appreciated the gathering for their show of love and contributions towards the success of the funeral services for their late Patriarch. He said his father was a role model, who left legacies and indelible marks in the life of many. Though, his death is very painful, he will forever be remembered.
