Major Ojo Ifedayo Adenegan, a prominent son of Owo Kingdom has congratulated the Olowo of Owo, Oba Ajibade Gbadegesin Ogunoye III on his appointment and inauguration as the pioneer Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology Babura Jigawa State, taking place on Saturday.
Federal University of Technology (FUT) Babura in Jigawa State had approved the appointment of Olowo of Owo Kingdom in Ondo State, as its pioneer chancellor.
The announcement was contained in a statement by the university’s Secretary of Information and Publicity, Mr. Mustafa Ibrahim.
The investiture ceremony is scheduled to take place on Saturday at the university’s permanent site along Kano Road in Babura town, Babura local government area of Jigawa State.
In a statement made available to newsmen on Friday, Major Ojo Ifedayo Adenegan, described Olowo’s appointment as deserving.
He said, On behalf of the family of Late Chief Adekunle Adenegan of Owo, I join other well wishers in Owo kingdom, Ondo State and Nigeria, wishing His Imperial Majesty Oba (Dr) Ajibade Gbadegesin Ogunoye III, well, as he becomes the Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology, Babura, Jigawa State, Nigeria on Saturday, 4th May,2024 in Jigawa State.”
He further said, “The appointment of Oba Ajibade Gbadegesin, is a testament to his leadership qualities as well as his unflinching commitment to the development of education in Nigeria.
“His appointment as the pioneer Chancellor is a clear indication of the trust and confidence that the Federal government and the university community have in his ability to lead and achieve more towards the development of the tertiary institution.
“Once again, I wish our revered traditional ruler, a successful tenure as the pioneer University Chancellor and prays God to continue to strengthen and uphold him to have a smooth and successful tenure.”
