A 60-year-old woman, popularly called “iya Owolabi” on Monday slumped and died while cooking moin-moin and pap meant for sale for the day at Ondo West Local Government Area of Ondo State.
It was gathered that the incident occurred around 08:00 a.m. at Akinjagunla mini market, along Ojojo Road.
According to an eyewitness in the market, Bose Akinwale said the deceased, while cooking fell and was rushed to the nearest hospital by sympathizers were she was confirmed dead.
Akinwale said the doctors that attended to the deceased said her blood pressure was above normal.
According to her, “We don’t really know much about her, we only buy moin-moin and pap from her”, she noted.
In a reaction, the Yaba Division Police said the case had not been reported to the station as of press time.
Body of the deceased has been deposited at the state hospital mortuary in Ondo.
