An Ondo State High Court, sitting in Akure has asked the Ondo State government to reconcile with the management of ZL Global Alliance over the controversy surrounding the contractual agreement between the two parties and prompt payment of N30,063,891 owing the management of ZL Global Alliance.

The Waste management company had asked the court to mandate the state government to pay the outstanding N30,063,891 debt over flood control in the state.

The court held that the Ondo state government should show commitment in paying the outstanding money owed ZL Global Alliance in fulfilment of its obligations to the company.

Justice David Kolawole who gave the order on Monday, also ruled that the parties should meet this week to resolve the aspect of flood prevention.

The Court ruled that the state Government and ZL Global Alliance should reach compromise on the release of additional equipment for clearing of waterways in the state.

The lawyer to ZL Global Alliance, Toyin Bashorun, SAN, had earlier informed the court that the company had complied with its order that three scarvators and two load trucks should be released to the state government to prevent flooding in the state.

However, the counsel to the defendant and state government, H. M. Falowo said the court should still order release of more equipment in the possession of the ZL Global alliance.

Falowo’s Prayer was objected to by Bashorun, saying that the state government lack commitment to meet the firm for resolution.

In his ruling, Justice Kolawole held that the two parties should embrace arbitration before returning to the court.

The court therefore adjourned the case till 24th July, 2024.
