Olanireti Adegbeko, newly appointed secretary of the Transition Committee of Akure South local government, is dead.
Adegbeko, who was also the assistant women leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Akure South chapter, reportedly passed on in the early hours of Friday.
Sources said she was a dutiful and committed party member.
Fasua Gbenga, chairman of Akure South local government Transition Committee, has expressed his condolences to the family of the deceased.

“Mrs. Olanireti was a treasured member of the APC even as a deputy woman leader of the executive organ of the party in Akure-South, and her absence leaves a void that will be deeply felt.
“She devoted herself tirelessly to serving her community, consistently demonstrating exceptional dedication and a genuine zeal for effecting positive change.
“Throughout her tenure with us, Mrs. Olanireti brought boundless enthusiasm, innovative ideas, and unwavering dedication to our collective mission.
“Her contributions were invaluable, and her legacy will endure among party members.
