It was like a drama at No 22, Ajayi Street l, owode area of Akure, the Ondo State capital when a middle-aged woman woke on Thursday morning to discover that her 7 eight-day old broiler chicken were stolen where she kept them.
The woman who didn’t want her name mentioned recounted her ordeal to Roving Reporters saying she bought the chicken at the rate of N600 each last Friday with the intention of rearing them till they were good to eat.
Woman said she had also bought other items and drugs and had kept the chicken inside her kitchen in a fenced bungalow.
She said, “ I was surprised this morning when I wanted to go and feed them, I couldn’t not find the chicken again. They cleared them all.
“It sounds funny but it is painful because I have hope that in a few months , they would have grown so well. Their growth is even rapid that my neighbors were observing them.
“I didn’t know how the thieves jumped the fence to steal 8-day old chicken. I don’t know it has got to this level.”
