Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has urged the people of Idanreland to peacefully and promptly select a successor to the late Owa, Oba Fredrick Aroloye who joined his ancestors on July 30, this year.
The governor gave the advice when he paid a condolence visit to the Owa’s palace in Idanre, Idanre local government area of Ondo state.
He enjoined the kingmakers not to delay in installing a new monarch for Idanre as such could give room to unpleasant situations.
Governor Aiyedatiwa promised his administration’s support towards ensuring a smooth installation process of a new monarch.
He described late Oba Aroloye as an excellent leader whose maturity and dexterity led to his emergence as three times Chairman of Ondo State Council of Obas during his lifetime.
Earlier, the Ondo state chairman of APC, Mr Ade Adetimehin who is a son of idanreland had thanked Governor Aiyedatiwa for his high level of respect for tradition and Idanre people.
Speaking on behalf of the royal family, The first son of the late monarch, Prince Babatope Aroloye appreciated the governor for identifying with both the bereaved family and the entire idanre people during their period of mourning.
Oba Fredrick Aroloye ascended the throne of his forefathers in 1976 and was the oldest first class Oba in Ondo State until his death last month.
