The governorship candidate of the Social Democratic party SDP in the November governorship election in Ondo state, Otunba Bamidele Akingboye has criticized the governor of the state, Lucky Aiyedatiwa for being insensitive towards the lives of the people of the state.
Akingboye, who complained about the incessant killings of farmers by herdsmen and that of the Okada riders by some yet to be identified persons who have taken over the state from him..
” We haven’t experienced this kind of government in state where the governor will look away and the citizens are being killed like fowls ” he said
“The governor should not because of election pretend as if nothing is happening, killings and kidnapping is everywhere in the state, he should act now” Akingboye urged.
The SDP candidate said that, the families of the farmers that were killed in Akoko, Odigbo and other parts of the state will not forget so soon or that of the Okada riders ,who struggled to make both ends meet but were killed at their primes by unknown gunmen in an attempt to forcefully snatched their motorcycles from them.
According to him ” What mood will the families of those that were brutally killed be, the bread winners , fathers to their children, husbands to their wives , what a pity !
He advised the governor to stop gallivanting and take a clue from his immediate boss ,Rotimi Akeredolu who never played politics with the lives of his people, who fought tirelessly and won the battle against the enemies of the state
” Everybody is now living in fear , no more farmers on farms , everything now upside down in the state, no reasonable projects.
Akingboye therefore urged the governor to speedily do the needful in modifying the security architecture of the state by empowering the Amotekun , including other security agencies for effective performance and stop playing politics with lives.
