A socio-political organisation, Social Rehabilitation Gruppe (SRG), has commended Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State on the appointment of seasoned administrator, Mrs. Yinka Alabi, as chairman of the newly constituted Ondo State Waste Management Board.
A statement by the Southwest Coordinator of the SRG, Prince Ademola Obadofin, described Alabi, a former Commissioner for Women Affairs in the state, as a goal-getter, whose contributions to the well-being of the people of Ondo State cannot be quantified.
“We in the SRG can confirm to Mr. Governor that he has put a round peg in a round hole in the appointment of Mrs Yinka Alabi as new head of the reconstituted Waste Management Board.
“Here is a woman, who like an Amazon that she is, has proved her mettle in male-dominated political circles, having drawn up various agenda on community development and sanitation measures.
“We are, therefore, convinced of her competence to restore sanity to some of our filthy urban communities, where waste disposal systems leave much to be desired,” Obadofin remarked.
The SRG chief, in congratulating Alabi, however urged her to engage Private Sector Participation (PSP) trucking in waste disposal operations in urban communities, as it is the practice in Lagos State, for utmost effectiveness.
Obadofin also appealed to the people of the state to cooperate with the new team at the Waste Management Board, through full compliance with sanitary rules, as lain out by the authorities.
