The lawmaker representing Ile-Oluji/Oke-Igbo Constituency at the Ondo State House of Assembly, Hon. Nelson Akinsuroju has called for unity within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Local Government ahead of the forthcoming Gubernatorial Election in Ondo State.
The lawmaker made this known while embarking on a working familiarization visit to the headquarters of Ile-Oluji Local Government and Ile-Oluji West Local Council Development Area meeting with members of the Transition Committee Members.
The familiarization visit is part of the strategy embarked upon by the lawmaker to ensure synergy between the Transition Committee Members and the member of the Ondo State House of Assembly in order to further enhance the development of the Constituency.
While receiving the lawmaker at the Ile-Oluji Secretariat, the headquarters of Ile-Oluji Local Government, the Chairman of the Transition Committee, Mr. C. A Akinrelere appreciated the lawmaker for creating avenue for such a meeting.
He also assured him of the cooperation of other members of the Transition Committee Members in Ile-Oluji. He tasked the lawmaker to use his good office to quicken response to requests made by the Transition Committee to the State Government, to ensure that the fractions within the party is solved before the gubernatorial election in November.
In his own submission, the Transition Committee Chairman of Ile-Oluji West LCDA, Apostle Akinyugha J. P also appreciated the initiative of the lawmaker to pay them a working visit at their headquarters in Bamikemo. He reiterated that the visit will assist the lawmaker to see firsthand the state of things at the Secretariat of the Ile-Oluji West LCDA and to also assist them in ensuring that the LCDA gets adequate attention.
Responding, the lawmaker stated that as a grassroot politician that he is, he knows the importance of having the Local Government working, he appreciated the Governor of Ondo State, His Excellency Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa for appointing competent hands to be the pioneer heads of the newly created Local Council Development Areas (LCDA).
The lawmaker also assures the Transition Committee Members of his commitment and readiness to work with them, he reassured them that he will always be available to listen to them and help wherever he can.
He urged the committee members to seize the opportunity of the Community Social Development Programme of the World Bank and the Ondo State Government to solve basic amenities deficiencies in the wards, he stated that he is ready to assist the committee formed at the various community levels with funds for counterpart fees, stating his contribution towards Ogbontuntun Bridge Construction which is at the final stage as example.
He further urged party leaders and actors in the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ile-Oluji to embrace peace and foster unity within the party to ensure the landslide victory of the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), H. E Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa in the November Gubernatorial polls. He declared his unalloyed support for the candidacy of H. E Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa and urged other committed party members to join hands for victory, at the polls.
