••• As Trainees get Certificates of Entrepreneurship Training
The Ondo State Government on Wednesday said its Gender office will not relent to equip the capacity of young girls and women for them to compete favourably for the few spaces within the Nigerian business world which remains very dynamic.
The Special Adviser to Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa on Gender, Mrs. Olamide Falana made this remark at the closing ceremony of the training of female on entrepreneurship held across 3 camps in Akure, the Ondo State capital.
Hon. Falana who commended the Entrepreneurship Development Centre EDC (EDC) for partnering Ondo State on the initiative said it is an invaluable experience for the young minds who have been exposed to the best of trainings by the best brains.



She also thanked the Governor of Ondo State, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa who also happens to be an alumni of EDC for his commitment to boosting the capacity of youths.
Giving his remarks, the Deputy Governor of Ondo State, Dr. Olayide Adelami represented by his Chief Deputy of Staff, Dr. Ademola Falokun while congratulating the trainees further urged them to have goals and stay focused on their dreams.
He noted that failure is not defeat but a definition of how best to do things just as he affirmed that money no longer rules the world but ideas.

While urging them to make the most use of the training to better their fortune, Dr. Adelami said they must count themselves lucky to have had the opportunity of a formal platform to learn from experts.
He promised to adopt as many of the trainees that are serious to compete for the small spaces allotted to women by standing out stressing that the state government is youth centered.
At the event also, the Honourable Commissioner for Youths and Sports, Hon. Saka Yusuf challenged the trainees to go all out and impact their world.
He noted that there is increase in crime rate among youths, this urging them as the future of the nation, to take up their space in leadership.
He also used the opportunity to applaud Hon. Falana for the initiative just as he assured that his ministry will roll out more youth programs for greater impact.
In their separate remarks, Olori Oyinkansola Aroloye and Yeye Yemi Ajonibode commended the trainees just as they charged them to make the most use of their training to impact the world as female entrepreneurs.
In her own remark, the Chairman, House Committee on Women Affairs, Hon. Wumi Fayemi said the Nigerian business world is dynamic and as such those that benefited should count themselves lucky to have received training from the best of brains.
One of the major highlight of the event is the presentation of certificates to all the trainees.
Earlier in his remarks, EDC State Facilitator, Mr. Sadiq Deen while congratulating the trainees for being among the few to benefit appreciated Ondo State Gender Office for the support towards the success of the program.
Successful trainees among others will be meeting with industry mentors for 90 days, receive incentives such as business registration, company incorporation as well as roll up banners for their business, social media engagement all at no cost.
Ondo State was assigned 1,400 trainees in 7 cohorts of 200 each and just 3 cohorts out of 7 has been concluded.
