Tragedy broke out at the Akoko Anglican Grammar School community, in Ondo State, as a senior secondary school student, Habib Salau, was allegedly stabbed to death by a female student, Sandra, following a scuffle outside the school premises.
Eyewitnesses reported that the altercation occurred after school hours, resulting in Sandra allegedly stabbing Habib with a knife obtained from a student of Ajiroke Technical School.
The motive behind the attack remains unclear as of press time.
The body of the late Habib has been deposited at the Specialist Hospital, mortuary Ikare.
A competent Police source in the state confirmed the incident, saying the case has been transferred to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) for thorough investigation.
The source assured that justice will be served.
“We will leave no stone unturned in uncovering the circumstances surrounding Habib’s tragic death,” the source stated.
The school community is reeling in shock, with concerns about student safety and violence escalating.
Efforts to get more details from the Spokesperson for the Police in the state, Odunlami Ibukun, were unsuccessful.
