A former commissioner in Ondo State and Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Ondo State, Femi Adekanmbi on Friday said the PDP candidate candidate in the state, Agboola Ajayi has no chance of winning the November 16 governorship election in the state because he is a flag bearer of a dead political party.
Adekanmbi stated this while featuring on TVC News programme and monitored by Roving Reporters.
Asked on why the APC has not commenced his official campaign in the state, Adekanmbi said, “You know why we’re chilling? We don’t have opposition. Is there any other party contesting? No.

“You can see me relaxing in London, enjoying myself over here, because we don’t have any opposition. It’s a win-win situation for us, and it’s going to be a landslide victory for us.
“We don’t have any opposition. Most of the notable politicians, 90% of notable politicians in Ondo state, are behind Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa. So, basically, we don’t have any opposition. That’s why we’re taking our campaign steady and slowly.
“Like I said in my earlier interview with you guys, I actually mentioned the fact that Agboola Ajayi is a very good and strong politician. Yeah, he’s a very good and strong candidate in PDP, unfortunately, he’s contesting in the wrong party.
Unfortunately for him, Lucky Aiyedatiwa has been performing.
I understand the fact that, of course, the good people of Ondo State will decide who will be their next governor. But you see, when you look at what our own candidates in APC have done, and what they’re still doing, it’s absolutely ahead of others. Absolutely ahead of others. And just yesterday, we just constituted our campaign team across the state, and all of us are happy with that. And we are set to go.
“When it comes to politics , again, we have the candidate who can win. I am saying this very clearly.
“But the fact is, Agboola Ajayi is contesting in the wrong party. I’m going to repeat that fact.
“And we have, in our party, we have a very good candidate that is contesting against him. It’s not about incumbency, but grassroots politics.
“He has been a chairman of the local government, and has been contesting locally.
“He was asked to rep. I know that. So, we are not underestimating him. That’s a fact. We are not. We are not underestimating him. But what we are saying is this, that PDP is dead in the Ondo state. That’s a fact that PDP is dead.”
