Ondo 2024: PDP Chieftain, Arowolo, dumps Party, drums support for Aiyedatiwa

The Governor of Ondo State, Lucky Aiyedatiwa during his campaign tour to Akoko North East, welcomed and congratulated Hon. Oluwole Johnson Arowolo, recognizing his defection as a significant gain for the party and huge success not only to Akoko North East but also to Ondo State political landscape.

Governor Aiyedatiwa, his deputy, Adelami and other party leaders while welcoming Arowolo on 2nd November, 2024 at the Akoko North East local government campaign rally in Ikare-Akoko, celebrating Arowolo’s move to the APC, traversed different locations of the campaign rally, generating excitement and jubilation amongst the different communities visited.

The Governor said, “the defection of Arowolo signifies a substantial shift in the local political landscape that would put the PDP in disarray in the local government and beyond.

“I believe that this move will empower us to work together more effectively and make meaningful progress on the issues that matter most to our community.

Meanwhile, the public declaration of Arowolo’s defection was just a formality as he had earlier been formally introduced to Gov. Aiyedatiwa by the Ondo North Elders during the Presentation of “Ondo North NEEDS Assessment Report of the Community Engagement Exercise” on 30th September, 2024.

While presenting Arowolo to the Aiyedatiwa, the Ondo North Leaders proudly flaunted some of the great attributes of Arowolo, acknowledging him as one of most credible and reliable PDP Leader in Akoko.

Governor Aiyedatiwa had earlier welcomed Arowolo to the APC at the Governor’s Office, Alagbaka, Akure, when he accompanied the APC leaders from Ondo North exclusively consisting the Advisory Council Members to the office of the Governor

Arowolo, a quintessential politician, a grassroot mobiliser, the Babalaje of Ikareland and former LG. Council Chairman while addressing followers, said, “change can be challenging, but I am confident that by joining forces with All Progressive Congress (APC), they can achieve even greater strides in making a positive impact on the lives of the people they serve.

“Together, let us forge ahead towards a brighter future for our community. Let us move forward united in our dedication to a stronger, more vibrant community for the Renew
Hope.

“I look forward to the continued privilege of serving you in this new chapte”. Arowolo said.
