His Royal Majesty, Oba Oladele Fredrick Akinmoye, Ebiekuraju IV, the Orungberuwa of Erinje Kingdom has stepped down at Obonde beach, on the completion of this year Aluma festival.
Annually in the month of November, Orungberuwa and his chiefs usually proceed on seven days prayer retreat to Aluma, the ancestral home of Erinje people, which is located across Ufara river.
The monarch was welcomed by jubilant crowd, who had awaited his safe arrival, as he alighted from a canoe.
Addressing journalists on Monday after alighting from the canoe, Orungberuwa thanked the sons and daughters of Erinje for their support and cooperation that ensured the success of this year Aluma festival.
Orungberuwa thanked them for devoting their time at Aluma praying for the peace and the development of Erinje land and good governance in Ondo State.
He used the opportunity to congratulate His Excellency, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa for his resounding victory at the just concluded Gubernatorial election in Ondo State.
He prayed that God would grant the Governor the wisdom to function well in office and, the grace to reciprocate the huge goodwill he enjoyed from the people of Ondo State.
He described Aiyedatiwa as a humane and a highly responsible gentleman whose nature, is to always prioritise the welfare of the people.
The 1st class traditional ruler emphasised that he trust that Aiyedatiwa would do well in Office and prayed the good Lord to help him.
He prayed for peace and speedy economic recovery of in the country, and God to grant President Bola Tinubu the divine wisdom in managing the economy, such that Nigerians will enjoy more dividends of Democracy.
The traditional ruler, however, appealed to Ondo State Government to intervene in the infrastructural development of Erinje community.
The monarch said Erinje community lacks social amenities and pleaded for government intervention in the construction of line drainages and township roads, extension of electricity poles and wires to the new areas of the town, upgrading and proper functioning of the health centre among others.
He enjoined leaders in all segment of the country -traditional, religious and political leaders to embrace the leadership traits of honesty, accountability and emotional intelligence so that the country can progress.
