There has been growing concerns about the level of neglect of the people of Ekamefa,a group of communities under Ifedore local government area of Ondo State- in the process of having political appointments/patronage in the state.
According to reports, Ifedore LGA has three zones; Igbara Oke zone
Ilara zone
Ijare Zone and shared three major posts amongst the zones;House of Assembly,
Commissioner and Chairman of the LG
Currently Igbara Oke has produced House of Assembly in the person of Barr. Tope Komolafe And Ilara Mokin has Commissioner in person of Engr Razaq Obe, While all things being equal, the next chairman should automatically go to Ijare Zone.
The major issue now is, since the advent of democracy, In Ijare Zone, only the Ijares has been producing the local government chairmen for several years while the minority ward;Ekamefa has been left out without any post.
The only time Ekamefa has produced a government official was when Hon. Kunle ‘Favour’ Ajayi emerged the LCDA chairman of Ijare.
While he was appointed, he was the first and only chairman that opened campaign office for Governor AIYEDATIWA ahead of his then primary election which he eventually won.
Also, during the campaign for AIYEDATIWA during the general election he played a leadership role by bringing unity among the leaders in his area and also gave over 30 okada riders free fuel.
Also, as IJARE LCDA chairman, the first project to be inaugurated during campaign of Mr Governor was ground breaking of IJARE neighborhood market.
He work tirelessly for Mr Governor by engaging traditional rulers (OBAs), religious leaders and all other Association.
Hon Ajayi is also the current president of Mobile Phones Technicians (AMPTECH) in Ondo State and he used his office to mobilize over 11,000 members in his Association for AIYEDATIWA’s election.
With all these facts and commitments, it is believed that the zoning arrangement in the Ifedore local government favours Engr Kunle Temitope Ajayi popularly known as ‘Engr Favour’ and especially the good people of Ekamefa.
