The National Union of Road Transport Workers,NURTW Ondo state chapter has warned those behind the circulation of fake news about the leadership of the Union to desist from such an action or face full weight of the law.
The chairman of NURTW in Ondo state, Comrade Odudu Ademola stated this in a statement made available to Newsmen while reacting to the news making the rounds that Dr Ibikunle Baruwa is still the National President of NURTW.
Comrade Odudu Ademola said such fake information was capable of disrupting the peace of the state.
Comrade Odudu pointed out that he remained the authentic chairman of the Union in Ondo state while the National President of the NURTW is Alhaji Dr. Musiliu Akinsanya aka MC Olumo who was duly elected and sworn-in earlier this month.
He however warned one Chief Oluwatoyin Olaoye to desist from parading himself as the Union chairman in Ondo state.
Odudu also advised whoever behind the fake invitation of Dr Baruwa to ondo state headquarters of NURTW in Akure on Monday ( today) to desist from such an act that is capable of disrupting the peace of the state.
The statement reads, “The Attention of the NURTW Ondo state council has been drawn to an act of impersonation by One Chief Oluwatoyin Olaoye, who is claiming to be the state chairman of NURTW in ondo state and also sending wrong information about Dr Ibikunle Baruwa being the National President of NURTW.
“The Authentic State Chairman of the Union, Comrade Odudu Ademola, stated categorically that the only National President of the NURTW is Alhaji Dr. Musiliu Akinsanya aka MC Olumo who was duly elected and sworn-in in November.
“Comrade Odudu equally wishes to inform the general public to disregard whatever falsehood being dished out by these impostors who will be charged accordingly in no distant time.
“He further advised whoever that is behind the fake invitation of Baruwa to ondo state headquarters of NURTW in Akure on 2nd of December to desist from such an act that is capable of disrupting the peace of the state.
“Anyone found culpable will be made to face the full weight of the law.“
