A love and relationship Radio programme broadcast Journalist based in Ondo state, Adegboyega Omisakin, popularly known as Adegboyega Alani De Radio-Boyfriend has won the Ondo state Media personality of the year 2024 award.
The award was confired on him by Laurel Leaf Communications, Organizers of Leadership Excellence and Dignity award, LEAD AWARD in Akure, the Ondo state capital on Sunday.
He was nominated alongside big wigs such as Adeola Adékúnlé, Olabisi Olaniyi-Oluwaseun, Similoluwa Stephen, Ayoola Fatokun, Olumide Adeluwoye and others.
When speaking with journalists after receiving the award, the media personality of the year, Adegboyega Alani expressed gratitude after receiving the prestigious award.
The Adaba 88.9fm journalist who has only been in the state for two years, said he felt intimidated by the other nominees, who were well-established in the industry.
He said “I wasn’t expecting it, it was a great shock to me when my name was called because even when I got nominated I already discouraged myself because of the set of people we were nominated together.
“I believe they have big wings because they are really big wings in broadcasting. They were people that Ondo state knew before I got here. I’ve just used two years and few months in Ondo state and ehm this award means so much to me. I know it has displayed my exemplary contribution into broadcasting into broadcasting job in general in Ondo state. Nevertheless, I’m not ready to stop giving out my best to my people.”
Adegboyega Alani however promised never to relent in dishing out the best content to his fans.
He said, “The award is a motivation for me. I’m not seeing it as winning the Media Personality of the Year. I’m seeing it as a call to challenge, a challenge to do better, a challenge to intensify in my personal development, reading books, intensifying in my research activities, meeting people outside, rekindling my interpersonal relationship with fans.
“Because fans have brought me this far, so it’s a call to challenge to me, and I’m ready to do my best for myself and to always dish out the best for my audience in the coming year, 2025.”
