Thursday, December 19, 2024, will remain a joyful and memorable day for the pupils, parents, management, and staff of Pride of Zion (Montessori) Nursery and Primary School, Oda Road, Akure, as the fastest-growing citadel of learning held its Seventh Lesson and Carol.
The colourful event, held at the school premises, was also graced by a traditional ruler and other invited guests.
At the well-attended event, the highly elated school pupils gave Father Christmas a rousing welcome to the school premises, who, arriving from “Rome,” brought gifts for the children.
Addressing the gathering, the school proprietress, Rev. Dr (Mrs) Ayo Adeyemo (JP), encouraged everyone to always remember the true meaning of Christmas.
“As we gather to celebrate the true spirit of Christmas, I am filled with joy and gratitude. The first term has come to an end, and I am proud of each and every one of our pupils for their hard work and achievements.
“Today, we come together to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, who brought love, joy, and hope to the world. As we sing Christmas carols and enjoy the festive season, let us not forget the true meaning of Christmas,” she emphasised.
Dr Adeyemo also took the opportunity to thank the teachers, staff, and parents for their tireless efforts and support throughout the term, stating that their hard work and dedication had not gone unnoticed.
“I want to appreciate our last year’s graduands who have come to celebrate with us. Today, we celebrate your achievements and loyalty. You will be prosperous in all your endeavours.
“To our pupils, I am proud of you all for your joyous enthusiasm, energy, and love for learning. Keep up the good work!
“As we break for the holidays, I wish you all a joyous and peaceful Christmas. May this festive season bring you love, happiness, and cherished time with family and friends,” she added.
In his word of exhortation, the invited minister, Pastor Olaleye, encouraged everyone to reflect on the season and remember the needy around them as they celebrate Christmas.
He explained that Jesus is generous to mankind, just as God is generous to the world, urging people to always give generously to their fellow human beings without hesitation.
“When you give, give cheerfully because God loves a cheerful giver. God gives to you so you can give back to Him and others,” he added.
Highlights of the colourful event included the reading of lessons, presentation of gifts, choreography, and various presentations and displays by both pupils and teachers.
