On Saturday, January 4, 2025, the vibrant town of Ilara-Mokin in Ifedore Local Government Area witnessed a momentous occasion as Otunba Adelanke Yisa Bakare, a prominent chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), accomplished entrepreneur, and grassroots mobilizer, was celebrated with a prestigious award from Ègbé Isokan, one of the foremost associations in the community.
The recognition, presented during the 30th-anniversary celebration of the association at the St. Andrew’s Primary School Sports Field, honoured Otunba Bakare for his outstanding dedication to youth empowerment, agricultural transformation, and relentless efforts to uplift the community.
Otunba Bakare, famously referred to as the “Champion of the Tomato Revolution” in Ondo State, has left an indelible mark on the agricultural landscape of the region.
Through his visionary leadership, he has spearheaded initiatives that have empowered countless farmers and inspired youths to embrace agriculture as a means of livelihood.
One of his notable contributions is hosting a widely acclaimed agricultural program on Adaba FM (AYE ÀWỌN ÀGBÈ, FARMER’S DOMAIN) for three consecutive years, where he provided practical insights and guidance to farmers across the state. This, coupled with his innovative agricultural projects, has positioned Ilara-Mokin as a shining example of agricultural progress.
In addition to his agricultural strides, Otunba Bakare served as the Managing Director of Sunshine Jonvic Quadnigt Ltd, where his leadership created numerous opportunities for young people, further cementing his legacy as a champion of youth development.
During the award presentation, the organizers the event, Ègbé Isokan praised Otunba Bakare for his unwavering commitment to community development. “Otunba Adelanke Bakare is not just a leader; he is a visionary whose contributions have significantly impacted Ilara-Mokin, Ifedore LGA, and Ondo State at large.
