Ondo: AASVI presents awards to Breeze FM’s Staff, Others

A non-governmental organization, ‘Awareness Against Social Vices Initiative’ (AASVI), in conjunction with Breez 91.9fm Akure, has presented an award of Outstanding Radio Presenter 2024 to a staff of the Breez 91.9fm Akure, Christopher Akindele, popularly known as “Arole Aromiyo”.

Remaining eight awardees includes; Olugbenga Atiba, the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa on Security Matters (Exceptional Performance), Ayeyemi Francis, a retired Vice Principal, Ondo State TESCOM bagged distinguished humanitarian, Olaoye Reuben emerged as Man of Integrity, while Mrs Ojuko Funmilayo Abiola of the FirstBank Market Branch bagged Humble and Dedicated Staff of the year 2024.

Others awardees are; SP Olawumi Olaide, 2IC Anti-kidnapping, Ondo State Police Command (Dedicated and Committed Officer of the year 2024), SP Oyekola Kayode, DPO Iwaro-Oka Akoko, Ondo State Command (Remarkable and Amiable Officer of the year 2024), SP Ojogo Abiola, OC Gender Base SCID Ondo State Command (Dutiful and Devoted Officer of the year 2024) and Inspector Olaseni Gbenga, Traffic Officer, Ondo State Command (Extremely Outstanding Traffic Officer of the year 2024).

According Oluwagbemiga Akinbobola, the Chief Executive Officer, AASVI, while speaking on the ceremony said; “when you look at the name, Awareness Against Social Vices Initiative, we have prosecuted many cases but when you’re fighting corruption is not always hitting but there are some people in the community that are upright, that have integrity that needs appreciation and that is why we are appreciating these people.

“Besides, through the help of God, we’ve trained people, particularly the less-privileged. So, today there are some people that they are outstanding in their various field of work that needs recognition.

“We looked round all the sectors to present the award to these people so that it can encourage them to do more and even to encourage those that are bad to change for good.”

“My advice to everyone is that we should stop doing evil, let us cultivate the habit of doing good things, we are good in this country but the way people sees us outside is from the negative aspect. So we need to celebrate ourselves. Let us change and do good, let us go back to our old nature, acknowledging.”

Asiwaju Sunday Ajongbolo, the General Manager, Breez 91.9fm Akure, thanked the organizer for organizing the award ceremony saying; “we are doing our best to assist the community listening to us and we will not relent in our good programmes.

“Breez 91.9fm is the kind of the station will need in Nigeria that will make impact on the society.”

One of the awardees, Olaseni Gbenga, the Traffic Officer, who appreciated the organiser of the award said; “this would be the 14 awards I will received and I have spent 17 years in controlling the traffic.”
