Oluwaseun, Wife of Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, on Saturday made a dramatic return to the Government House in preparation for the swearing ceremony of her husband.
This after over one year she had been out of the public scene in the state.
Aiyedatiwa is scheduled to be sworn in as the governor of Ondo state on 24th, February, 2025.
Mrs Aiyedatiwa’s shocking return coincided with a wedding ceremony at the government house chapel.
A source who was at the venue told Roving Reporters that there was jubilation at the wedding ceremony as the presiding cleric announced the arrival of the woman.
It was also gathered that the hall erupted in joy, with guests unable to contain their excitement.
The governor was also said to have been caught unaware by her arrival.
Meanwhile, the wife of the late former Ondo State Governor, Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu, has commended the return of Oluwaseun Aiyedatiwa, wife of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, describing it as a welcome development for women in the state.
Speaking with Starnews, Anyanwu-Akeredolu decried the sidelining of women in governance, noting that the revival of the Office of the First Lady would refocus attention on their issues.
She wrote, “Good news! Good for the women of Ondo State. Women of Ondo State had been sidelined in the scheme of things. Nobody was doing the pillow talk for them. The Office of the First Lady will come alive again. Happy for them!”
Her remarks follow speculations about the state of affairs within the government, particularly the conspicuous absence of the governor’s wife from public engagements since her husband assumed office.
The return of Mrs Aiyedatiwa is expected to rekindle advocacy for women’s rights and welfare in the state, as the Office of the First Lady traditionally serves as a platform for such initiatives.
