The attention of the authentic Omo-Owa of Isikan has been drawn to a malicious publication by some disgruntled group who referred to themselves as Omowa Isikan under the leadership of Baba Ariyo.
The pseudo group of Omo-Owa claimed to have disown the Iralepo of Isikan, High Chief Henry Gbenga Adeyeye, Arulewolasi II claiming he is not a true son of Isikan.
Such careless talk was seen as the highest level of an open display of ignorance and a show of shame by those who assemble themselves to insult the sensibility of an average Isikan person.
For the avoidance of doubt, we wish to say without mincing words that High Chief Gbenga Adeyeye remains a true son of the soil and a bonafide Omowa of Isikan who has contributed in no small measure to the growth and development of Isikan and Akure at large.
Let it be on record that the former Iralepo was never a male son in Isikan rather, his late father was from Obanla quarters in Akure while the grandmother hails from Isikan quarters in Akure. If you need to talk of anyone that is truly Omowa of Isikan, it should be High Chief Henry Gbenga Adeyeye. We wondered why the erstwhile Iralepo would claim to be more catholic than Pope.
We, the authentic Omowa wishes to state clearly and inform the whole world that we wholeheartedly accept the appointment of High Chief Henry Gbenga Adeyeye as the Iralepo of Isikan, we give him our total support and we all remain resolute as the authentic Omowa of Isikan to be under his leadership.
We are confident that the Chieftaincy stool of Isikan will be upgraded in due course with the consent and sanction of the Deji as demanded by custom, law and tradition being the paramount Ruler of Akure Land.
We urge all residents, sons and daughters of Isikan to continue to support High Chief Henry Gbenga Adeyeye as the Iralepo of Isikan so that he can take Isikan to an enviable heights and its place of pride without rancor, discrimination and needless crisis as it was witnessed during the reign of Mr. Gbenga Ojo as the Iralepo.
Additionally, we sincerely appreciate the Deji and paramount Ruler of Akure Kingdom, Oba (Dr.) Aladetoyinbo Ogunlade Aladelusi, Odundun II who has exhibited decorum and played a fatherly role even in the face of unwarranted confrontation and arrogance exhibited by the former Iralepo Gbenga Ojo. We wish to say that all the character he exhibited do not represent the ethos and character of an average Isikan person.
We urge the former Iralepo Gbenga Ojo or any of his agent to desist from making any inflammatory remarks or doing anything that could jeopardize the current peace being enjoyed in Isikan.
We wish to urge the public to disregard any purported press statement henceforth from any Omowa group other than the one led by Chief Ayo Ogunlade
