Hon. Gbenga Fasua, the chairman, Akure-South Local Government of Ondo State has promised to support students of the local government in the pursuit of scholarships and bursaries towards ensuring academic excellence.
Fasua made the promise in Akure while presiding over the swearing-in ceremony for the newly appointed leadership of the National Association of Akure Students (NAAS) National Body at the local government Secretariat.
He stressed the need for continuity and sustaining legacy by the new students leadership.
The chairman urged the new leadership, led by President Adeyemi Festus, to build aggressively on the robust foundation established by their predecessors.
Fasua also called for an unwavering commitment by the students leaders to uphold the constitution of the association while proactively engaging in initiatives that enhance the welfare of Akure students across all educational institutions.
The event was attended by dignitaries, including Hon. Adebayo Ayodele, the Vice-Chairman of Akure-South Local Government; Hon. Adeola Fynch, the Secretary to the Local Government; and Hon. Adeola Iteyemi Adegoroye, Chief of Staff. Hon. Sunday Falae, known as S.O.F, was installed as the Patron, while Chief Mrs. Adekanye and Erelu of Akure Kingdom, served as Matron.

Stakeholders and influential figures from the association were present, including Hon. Olowookere Damilare, famously known as DreyCoal; Afe Samson Gboyega, the OSYN Coordinator; and Ogundipe Seyi, known as Sy Mighty.
The swearing-in ceremony also featured the induction of the new cabinet members: Ajayi Israel Olusegun as General Secretary; Omotehinse Samuel Olanrewaju as the Public Relations Officer; Abidakun Ayomide Victor as Treasurer; Falana Modupe Mary as Financial Secretary; Fayehun Sarah Eotomo as Welfare Director; and Alabi Opeoluwa Esther as Social Director.
