Doyin Okupe, a former presidential spokesperson and a prominent Nigerian politician has passed away.
Roving Reporters confirmed on Friday that he died from remission of cancer in Lagos overnight.
Okupe served as a senior adviser to former President Goodluck Jonathan.
Doyin Okupe was popular for his role as the Director-General of Peter Obi’s presidential campaign but was forced to step down after being convicted for money laundering.
Following the 2023 general election, Okupe resigned from the Labour Party and became an outspoken supporter of President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
