Renowned broadcast journalist and CEO of KaMT Media World, Adekunle Adewumi, has been honored with the African Icon of Broadcasting Award by The Face of African TV.
The award recognizes his outstanding contributions to journalism and broadcasting, as well as his dedication to shaping public discourse through the media.
The prestigious ceremony, held on Sunday, March 16, 2025, at Sunbeth Hotels, Sijuade, Akure, brought together distinguished personalities from various sectors.
Notable among the awardees were Hon. Eniku Omotayo and Barr. Dr. Olumuyiwa Adu Cubana, among others, all celebrated for their impact on society.
Expressing his gratitude, Adewumi dedicated the award to his late father, Pa David Adewumi, and his fans across the globe.

“I am deeply grateful to God Almighty for His faithfulness,” he said, acknowledging the divine grace that has guided his career.
He also took a moment to appreciate his supporters, stating:
“This award is not just for me, but for my late father, Pa Gabriel Ariyo Adewumi, and my teeming supporters who have stood by me through this journey.”
Reflecting on the recognition, he added:
“While it feels good to know that my work is being recognized, this honor will spur me to do more.”
