Insecurity: Recruit more Operatives for Ondo Amotekun, Group tells Aiyedatiwa

A sociopolitical group under the auspices of Sunshine Advancement Advocacy Ambassadors, has called on the Ondo State Government under the leadership of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa to fortify the State Security Network Agency, Amotekun through recruitment of more able bodied personnel and provision of necessary gadgets for the security outfit.

The group, in a statement made available to journalists on Monday in Akure at the end of their bimonthly meeting by its Chairman, Hon. Olaniyi Ogungbuji, frowned at the recent wave of the activities of kidnappers and killing of residents of Ondo State in some parts of the state.

Ogungbuji, however, enjoined the State Government to beef up security in all parts of the state.

The statement read further; “the State Governor in conjunction with other Governor’s in South-West Nigeria should take proactive actions in respect of the numerous camps of the invaders, a revelations made by the Afenifere Youth leader recently released from the kidnappers den.

“The recent comments of the Chief of Army Staff on the incursion of kidnappers and marauders into the forest belt of Yorubaland should be addressed promptly

“The Council of Obas, community leaders, and authorities of the 18 local governments and security agents should comb the forests belt of the South Western part of the country and flush out these invaders out.

“The group further implores the State Government to put more effort into the general cleaning of Akure, the state capital.

“The state government should endeavour to complete the ongoing Oda and Ijoka roads as a matter of urgency before the oncoming rainy season

“The activities of middlemen in the various markets in Ondo State, resulting in the high cost of food items, should be curtailed.

“The group wishes to commend the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the numerous projects in Ondo State; the dualization of Akure-Ondo-Ore road, the establishment of Air Force Secondary School at Igbaraoke, the establishment of an Aviation School in Akure, and the approval of a Federal Teaching Hospital in Akure.”

According to Ogungbuji, all these projects will enhance social economic activities and better development of the well-being of the people of Ondo State.
