The Executive Chairman of Akoko North East Local Government, Hon. Mohammed Olawale embarked on a significant visit yesterday to the site of the Nigerian Army Forward Operating Base (FOB),at Auga Akoko, alongside Hon.Bola Taiwo, Special Adviser on Special Duties and Union Matters to Gov Lucky Aiyedatiwa, and Brigadier General Ifeanyi.
A forward Operating Base (FOB) is a temporary or semi-permanent military base established in a remote or forward location, internal and external.the primary purpose is to provide support and logistics for military operations, allowing troops to project power and conduct missions in the surrounding area in order to curb insecurity,
Olawale lauded Governor Aiyedatiwa for his unwavering commitment to enhancing the security and development of Akoko North East.His approval of a temporary permanent site for military within the base is a testament to his dedication to protecting our citizens and promoting regional growth.
“This base marks a significant milestone in the efforts to strengthen security and development in Akoko North East the safety and security of lives and properties remain my top priority. With the completion of this project, I’m confident that our people will enjoy a more secure environment, where they can live without fear and sleep with their “two eyes closed,”
He also Expressed heartfelt gratitude to Almighty God and Governor Aiyedatiwa for making this a reality ‘’during my Time’’.
“As the responsibility of the chairman to secure lives and property, I ensured that the military base prioritizes the safety of the communities. With the completion of this project, Akoko North East is now more secured from kidnapping, herdsmen, and other social vices.“
