The Benin-Owena River Basin Development Authority (BORBDA) management team, led by Managing Director Dr. Olufemi Adekanmbi, paid a series of high-level visits to senior officers of the Nigerian Police Force at the Force Headquarters in Abuja.
The visit aimed to strengthen collaboration on security and ensure the protection of lives and property under the Authority’s care, particularly across nearly 8,000 hectares of farmland.
The delegation met with AIG Tunde Disu, Commandant of the Special Protection Unit; AIG Funso Adegboye, Head of the Police Mobile Force; and DCP Ahmed Lateef and ACP Bukola Kuti, Principal Staff Officers I & III to the Inspector General of Police.
During the meetings, Dr. Adekanmbi congratulated AIG Disu on his recent appointment and formally sought the support of his unit in providing security for BORBDA’s management and staff.
The team discussed the establishment and deployment of a dedicated mobile police unit to BORBDA’s headquarters and area offices across the region.
Both officers acknowledged the importance of the request and assured the delegation that the matter would be formally presented to the Inspector General for due consideration and necessary action.
This development is expected to enhance the security of BORBDA’s personnel and equipment, ultimately contributing to the achievement of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda on food security.
The Authority’s efforts to safeguard its operations and personnel are crucial to ensuring the continued growth and development of the region.
