St. Gabriel’s Skills Acquisition and Empowerment Foundation in Nigeria has expressed its readiness to empower some unemployed Youths as well as Widows in Ondo State towards improving their standard of living.

The founder of the Foundation, Gabriel Adebayo disclosed this on Thursday in an interview with newsmen in Akure the Ondo state capital.

He said, “We are planning to empower some youths in Ondo State , the youths that are unemployed. We are trying to encourage them. We have trained them on skill, different skills like tailoring, hairdressing, makeup and all those things. We have trained them for two years.

“But those trained, they don’t have the means of getting empowerment in terms of buying their tools for them. So this is, what organization is for, to assist them on skill acquisition.

“Then after that one, we buy their tools. So we believe that is what we can do for our society, to eradicate insecurity and unemployment in the state and in Nigeria. So in this month, we want to do their graduation and empower them.

“For the widows, we just want to assist them, just stipends to encourage them to find something doing, and the old women, to just appreciate them for what they are doing.

“We are targeting 50 beneficiaries- female, 35, male is 15. Also the widows are 50 widows.

“We have been helping people since 2012 now and more than 300 people have benefited from our gesture in terms of empowerment.

“Many of those assisted are now doing fine as many now have their own shops working there everyday.“
